VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
Volcanoes National Park, located in Rwanda’s northwestern region, is one of Africa’s most prestigious wildlife destinations and the crown jewel of Rwanda tourism. Spanning 160 square kilometers, this magnificent park forms part of the greater Virunga Conservation Area, which extends into Uganda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The park is home to five of the eight volcanoes in the Virunga Mountains: Karisimbi, Bisoke, Muhabura, Gahinga, and Sabyinyo.

Itinerary
“Gorilla Encounter Day Trip”
- 6:00 AM – Early departure from Kigali (2.5-hour scenic drive through Rwanda’s rolling hills)
- 8:30 AM – Arrive at park headquarters in Kinigi for registration and briefing
- 9:00 AM – Gorilla trekking briefing by park rangers and group assignment
- 9:30 AM – Begin gorilla trekking adventure through bamboo forests
- 12:00 PM – Gorilla encounter (1 hour with gorilla family)
- 2:00 PM – Return to park headquarters, certificate presentation
- 3:00 PM – Local lunch at nearby restaurant
- 4:00 PM – Visit Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for traditional performances
- 5:30 PM – Departure to Kigali
- 8:00 PM – Arrival in Kigali
